Belarusian opposition leader Kozulin leaves Gramada party

MINSK. Dec 21 (Interfax) - Belarusian opposition politician Alexander Kozulin has announced that he withdrew from the Gramada opposition party at a meeting of the party's central committee.

"I drew a line under a certain period of my life. And the withdrawal from the party is the logical end of this period," Kozulin told Interfax on Sunday.

Asked whether he leaves politics, Kozulin said: "My life does not end." "A lot of decent people remain in the party, but at the today's meeting its two founders Alexei Korol and Vladimir Nistyuk announced their withdrawal from the party," he said.

Kozulin also said that he does not plan to leave Belarus: "If a wanted to do so, I would have left long time ago."

Asked whether he is going to create his party, the opposition politician said that he remains an honorary member of Gramada.
