No cutbacks for Russia-Belarus Union State budget

RBC, 16.12.2008, Minsk 13:40:18.The Russia-Belarus Union State's budget will not be decreased, as State Duma Speaker Boris Gryzlov announced upon his arrival in Minsk for the 35th Belarus-Russia Parliamentary Assembly meeting, according to the State Duma's press office. The politician stressed that projects financed from the union's budget had to continue.

In the same vein, Gryzlov emphasized the importance of coordinating Russia and Belarus's efforts in key areas, such as social policy and finances, among others. He also urged further steps in promoting the ruble for settlements between the two countries, as the Russian currency is currently used in only 56 percent of all deals.
