Russia to consider another loan for Belarus
RBC, 20.12.2007, Moscow 19:27:07.Russia will consider providing Belarus with another loan worth $2bn in 2008, Deputy PM and Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin said following the signing of an intergovernmental agreement to grant Belarus a $1.5bn loan today. Kudrin noted that the second loan would also be aimed at backing Belarusian trade and payment balances, but could be a different kind of loan.
Kudrin reiterated that Belarus was preparing to place ruble bonds on the Russian market. VTB has been appointed the lead manager for the issue, which is to be placed in several tranches.
