Correction - Gazprom dismisses Belarus announcement on gas price

MOSCOW. Dec 30 (Interfax) - Russian natural gas monopoly Gazprom dismissed an announcement on Saturday evening by Belarussian First Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Semashko that Belarus and Gazprom had agreed the price for Russian gas for Belarus for 2007.

"We consider it premature to comment on intermediary results [of talks] and we point out that we are holding negotiations on a five-year contract," Gazprom spokesman Sergei Kupriyanov told Interfax.

"The figures voiced by Mr. Semashko at the news conference are his point of view and the position of the Belarussian side at the negotiations but by no means any real agreement with Gazprom," he said.
