Belarus Ambassador In Antalya

ANTALYA - Belarussian Ambassador to Turkey Natalia Zhylevich met Kemal Ozgen, Chairman of Antalya Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ATSO), on Thursday.

Ozgen told reporters that Turkey was the first country which recognized Belarus` independence in 1991.

"The number of Belarussian tourists who visited Antalya in the first 9 months of 2006 increased 20 percent (over the last year`s figures) and reached 47,000. We are eager to further strengthen the ties between Turkey and Belarus. ATSO also hopes to increase economic and commercial relations," noted Ozgen.

On the other hand, Ambassador Zhylevich said that they plan to open a promotion office in Antalya in coming days, adding that Antalya is one of the favorite destination for Belarussian tourists.

Recalling that a Turkish entrepreneur built a hotel in Belarus which is managed by a Turkish company, Zhylevich said that after they saw the hotel, they wanted other hotels to be built by Turks as well.
