Belarus, Vietnam discuss ways to strengthen ties

VietNamNet Bridge - The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, expressed his appreciation for Vietnamese achievements over the past few years when he entertained Viet Nam's Ambassador to Belarus, Vu Xuan Ninh, in Minsk on Friday.

Lukashenko stated his desire to soon pay a working visit to Vietnam, emphasising the policy of pursuing a senior-level bilaterial political dialogue to boost the two countries' co-operation and friendship for mutal benefit.

Ninh and Lukashenko discussed ways to further co-operate in various fields, especially in trade and commerce and in co-operation in international forums.

Ninh confirmed the important role of direct communication between the two sides' senior leaders in boosting co-operation and friendly relations.

Vietnam and Belarus have a large potential for co-operating in trade, science and technology, human resources training and culture, Ninh said. He thanked Lukashenko for the favourable conditions the Vietnamese community receives to live and work in Belarus.

Lukashenko conveyed his best wishes to Vietnam's leaders and people for the new year.
