Russian Rosneft yet to decide on oil deliveries to Belarus in Q1

MOSCOW. Dec 18 (Interfax) - Russian oil company Rosneft has yet to decide on oil deliveries to Belarus in the first quarter of 2007, company president, Sergei Bogdanchikov, told Interfax.

"We will decide on this question before the week ends," Bogdanchikov said. "We need calculations before we can talk about possible changes in the volume of deliveries."

Russia will introduce duties on oil shipments to Belarus amounting to USD 180.7 per tonne, starting on January 1, 2007. Currently, Russian oil is delivered to Belarus without duties within the framework of the agreement on the Customs Union.

Russia said that the decision stemmed from Belarus' revocation of an intergovernmental agreement, under which 85% of the export duties, in particular on petrochemicals produced in Belarus from Russian raw materials, was transferred into the Russian budget, with the remaining 15% going to Belarus.
