Gazprom and Beltransgaz have discussed terms of gas deliveries

December 12, 2006, Gazprom's CEO Alexey Miller and Beltransgaz' General Director Dmitry Kazakov discussed the results of the independent estimation of Beltransgaz' market value and terms of Russian gas deliveries in 2007, Gazprom said.

Facilities of Belarus' gas transport system were appraised by ABN Amro. These assets are expected to be used when paying for gas deliveries.

According to Gazprom, it has switched to market cooperation principles with all countries-buyers of Russian gas, but with Belarus. This is due to the fact that Belarus made a number of decisions which correspond to Gazprom's economic interests. In particular, it registered Gazprom's ownership for the Belarusian sector of the Yamal-Europe pipeline; the pipeline land was given to the company for long lease.

Gazprom and Beltransgaz signed a gas delivery and transit contract for 2006 on December 27, 2005. The gas price and transportation rate in 2006 correspond to the similar terms of 2005.
