RBC, 12.12.2006, Moscow

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov has signed a decree on the application of customs duties on crude oil exported from Russia to Belarus, the press office of the Russian government reported today.

According to the document, starting December 1, the export duty on crude oil amounts to $180.7 per tonne, while duties on light and heavy refined oil products is $134 and $72.2 per tonne respectively.

It is stressed in the decree that the decision has been made to protect Russia's economic interests due to Belarus canceling an agreement on the distribution and deposit of custom duties on Belarusian products made from Russian raw materials into the budgets of the two countries.
