Largest Accounting Firm in Belarus Joins BDO Global Network

BDO, the world's fifth largest accountancy network (revenues of $5.03 billion in 2009) is admitting a new member firm in Belarus to the network effective 17 November 2010. , BDO Belarus was formerly part of the KPMG network and is the largest accounting firm in Belarus by size of fees and number of staff

Fee income for the firm, founded 1997 and HQed in Minsk, has been growing each year. The firm has 65 partners and staff, and 100 clients served with audit, assurance, tax and advisory services. The new firm will work closely with BDO Eurasia B.V., a company formed by BDO and its member firms in Cyprus, Georgia, Israel, Kazakhstan, Russia and the Ukraine, with the objective of developing BDO activities in the Eurasia region.

Managing Partner Alexander Shkodin notes great future potential with BDO, indicating the goal is combine local knowledge with the international expertise of the BDO network to help leading Belarusian companies and multinationals. He noted increasing demand for professional and internationally experienced advisers.

Jeremy Newman, CEO of BDO said that the addition of the largest accounting firm in Belarus furthers the strategic regional growth plans of BDO, and can assist in delivering the best possible professional advice to clients across the region.
