Venezuela, Belarus discuss advance on cooperation projects

Venezuelan Foreign Minister Nicolas Maduro on Monday met with a Belarusian delegation to discuss the advance of a series of cooperation agreements in the fields of energy, agriculture, housing and industry.

The delegation includes ministers of industry, architecture and construction, agriculture, and other high-ranking officials, Maduro said.

During the meeting, both sides agreed on an agenda for bilateral projects, including the agreements signed in October by Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez and his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko as well as an oil supply agreement in which Venezuela promised to supply Belarus with 80 million barrels of oil from 2011 to 2013.

The Belarusian delegation will tour Venezuela to visit truck and tractor factories, as well as housing projects under construction in different regions of the country.
