Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2010 in Minsk, Belarus

While the winner of the big Eurovision Song Contest wins the right to host the next edition of the contest, the host country of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest is pointed out by the EBU. The bid to host the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2010 was won by Belarusian broadcaster BTRC. The contest will take place in Minsk.

The Belarusian bid to host the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2010 was backed by no one less than Alexander Rybak, the singer who won this year's Eurovision Song Contest for Norway with the song Fairytale. The 23-year old singer was born in the Belarusian capital Minsk and moved to Norway at the age of 4.

The preliminary date for next year's Junior Eurovision Song Contest is Saturday 20th November 2010. The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2010 will be organized at the Minsk Arena, to be completed by the end of this year. The Minsk Arena in the Belarusian capital can host up to 15.000 spectators.
