Rautaruukki Oyj (HEL:RTRKS) Rautaruukki Designs And Delivers Steel Structures For Logistics Complex In Minsk, Belarus
Rautaruukki will design and deliver steel structures for a logistics complex in Minsk, Belarus. The contract is worth EUR 1 million. Ruukki will design and deliver steel structures for the logistics complex and administration quarters totalling more than 9,000 square meters. The customer is Belrusinvest.
"This is the first time we are working together with Ruukki. We chose Ruukki as our supplier because they have experts in the structures used in logistics buildings. For us, it is also important to work with an established partner with a strong position as a manufacturer of steel structures. This was the decisive factor that clinched the deal in Ruukki's favour," said Viktor Davidenko, Director of the Group of Companies Belrusinvest.
According to Mr Davidenko, the warehousing complex will be used to satisfy the Group's own needs, as well as to rent to companies that need warehousing facilities in the city of Minsk. The logistics building will be completed in 2009. Ruukki opened sales office in Belarus in October 2008. Expansion of sales network will improve Ruukki's customer service and provide the potential for new partnerships.
