Persian manuscripts exhibit planned in Belarus

Head of National Library and Documents Organization Ali Akbar Ashari said that an exhibition of Iran's Persian manuscripts will be held in Belarus.

In a meeting with the head of Belarus National Library, Roman Motulsky, he referred to the important role of the two libraries in promoting bilateral cultural ties and said that cooperation agreements signed between the two entities will pave the way for using each other's experience for scientific and cultural progress.

Describing holding exhibitions of the two countries' written heritage as a suitable opportunity for introducing their culture and civilizations to the nations, Ashari said, "We are ready to organize a display of Persian handwritten copies as well as books translated into and from Belarusian language."

Motulsky, for his part, said that translation of famous Belarusian books into Persian will help introduce Iranians with the country's ancient literature.

Referring to the interest of Belarusian elites in Iran's manuscripts, he further said, "Since a limited number of Persian ancient manuscripts are maintained in the country's National Library, we want to hold an exhibit of them in Belarus."

He also called for Iranian experts' cooperation in digitalizing the library.
