Korea, Belarus to discuss cooperation in migration

A delegation of the Justice Ministry of the Republic of Korea will consider the prospects of the bilateral migration cooperation in the Interior Ministry of Belarus, BelTA was told in the information and PR department of the Interior Ministry of Belarus.

"A delegation of the Justice Ministry of the Republic of Korea led by Choo Kyu-ho, Commissioner of Korea Immigration Service, will stay in Belarus on November 19-21," the department informed.

The programme of the visit will include the meetings between the foreign officials and the authorities of the Interior Ministry of Belarus. Special attention will be turned to the activity of the international centre of training, retraining and upgrading qualifications in the area of migration and combating human trafficking (exercise modules, training courses, etc.). A deep interest has aroused in view of an initiative to set up a similar institution in the Republic of Korea under the auspices and with the support of the International Organisation for Migration.

The two sides are going to consider an opportunity to train Korean specialists within the framework of the training courses on the problems of the foreign labour migration worked out in the international training centre.

The officials of the Justice Ministry of the Republic of Korea are supposed to deliver a lecture to the teaching staff and students of the Academy of the Interior Ministry of Belarus and representatives of the law-enforcement bodies of the United Arab Emirates who are currently trained in the international training centre.

The Korean guests are also expected to meet with the authorities of the State Border Committee of Belarus.
