Iranian Foreign Minister intends to visit Belarus this year

Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki intends to visit Belarus this year. During the visit, the sides will discuss the urgent issues of the Belarusian-Iranian cooperation, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Belarus Seyyed Abdollah Hosseini told BelTA.

"The Iranian leadership is interested in strengthening the cooperation with Belarus in all the areas. As of today, the sides have implemented just a small part of their possibilities in cooperation. Especially, it concerns the trade and economic area," the Iranian Ambassador said. According to the diplomat, the scientific and technical cooperation is the most promising as Belarus and Iran have a great potential in the sphere of research developments. Iran has great achievements in the up-to-date IT technologies, physics and astronomy. The two countries may cooperate in investment and banking areas. The direct flight Minsk-Tehran could significantly strengthen the bilateral ties in all the areas, the Ambassador noted.

"The most important thing is that Iran and Belarus are ready to hold a mutually-beneficial dialogue - the important basis for developing the Belarusian-Iranian cooperation," Seyyed Abdollah Hosseini underscored.
