Belarus: Alcohol Sales Grow During The Year

Sales of alcoholic beverages in Belarus grew during the year, and accounted for 14% for all retail sales in the January-October period, according to data from the country's National Statistics Committee.

During the period, sales of vodka rose 8.3% year-on-year to 8.9 million decaliters, beer sales jumped up 20.5% to 21.1bn decaliters, vodka-based liquors rose by 16.3%, sales of brandy grew by 15.2%, sparkling wines saw an 8.5% rise in sales, while sales of grape wines were up 3.1%. However, sales of fruit wines were down 9.4% year-on-year.

Vodka accounted for 45.6% of all alcohol sales during the ten months, fruit wines accounted for 33.4%, while beer accounted for 10.8%.
