In 3-4 years Belarus to completely provide oneself with own biofuel

In 3-4 years Belarus plans to completely provide oneself with own biofuel, declared Alexander Apatskiy, the First Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of Belarus.

According to him, in the nearest future the country will create new biofuel production facilities. Two plants will be constructed in Mozur and Bobruysk cities, their annual production capacities will total 10 mln and 55 mln decalitres, respectively. Recently, "Grodno Azot" has launched experimental-industrial machine for methyl ether production from rape oil, "Mogulevhimvolokno" plans to realize the similar project, informed the First Deputy Minister.

According to him, Belarus has enough agricultural lands for rapeseed growing. The government also works to attract foreign investments in Belarusian biofuel production. In future, Belarus plans to export own product to the EU countries.
