Belarus to use Latvia experience in producing statistics based on EU standards

The National Statistics Committee of Belarus and the Central Statistics Bureau of Latvia will exchange methodological materials and programmes related to the statistics research and the experience of implementing the latest information technologies. Specialists of the National Statistics Committee of Belarus will study the experience of the Latvian colleagues in producing statistics based on the norms and standards of the European Union. The aforesaid is spelled out in the cooperation agreement, BelTA learnt from the National Statistics Committee.

The document was signed during the working visit of Prime Minister of Belarus Sergei Sidorsky to Riga. The agreement is aimed to improve cooperation in statistics.

The agreement will help the Belarusian Statistics Committee to establish closer business relations with the Latvian partners, regularly exchange official statistics. It, first of all, concerns the information on the issues of the mutual trade what is necessary in making decisions on the development of the trade and economic relations with the Republic of Latvia.
