Russia, Belarus sign agt on granting $2 bln state loan to Belarus

MOSCOW, November 14 (Itar-Tass) - Russia and Belarus have signed an agreement on the provision to Belarus of a state loan. Vice Prime Minister and Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin signed the agreement on behalf of Russia and Finance Minister Andrei Kharkovets - on behalf of Belarus, Prime-Tass reported.

Kudrin has also signed with Belarussian Vice Prime Minister Alexander Kobyakov a memorandum of understanding between the two governments on coordination of measures to raise competitiveness. Besides, the sides agreed to develop credit-financial cooperation between the two states.

Kudrin told journalists that the stabilisation loan worth two billion US dollars will be provided by Russia to Belarus for 15 years. The first tranche of 1 billion US dollars will be transferred in the coming days and the second tranche of 1 billion US dollars - before February 28, 2009.
