Economic cooperation is best guarantee for good Belarusian-German relations

The development of the economic cooperation between Belarus and Germany serves as the best guarantee for good relations, BelTA learnt from Alexander von Bismarck, great-grandson of the German Empire Chancellor Otto Eduard Leopold von Bismarck, a representative of the German Society of Assistance in Development of Political and Social Relations in Europe. Alexander von Bismarck is taking part in the conference timed to the 90th anniversary of the end of World War I.

Speaking about the necessity of peaceful coexistence of the peoples in the 21st century, Alexander von Bismarck expressed the confidence that the common goal of the world community is to prevent any war. According to him, it is important to honour personal, family and economic relations, support trade between countries which will help preserve good relations in the future. Alexander von Bismarck reminded that Germany ranks second in terms of import of Belarusian goods. He also expressed the confidence that the Belarusian-German economic cooperation will be developing. "It is very important for our peoples and my family takes an active part in this," he said.

The representative of the Bismarck family presented the future museum of World War I, which is expected to be set up in Belarus, with the book "A Monument to German People" published in 1914 and inked by the German Empire Chancellor Otto Eduard Leopold von Bismarck personally.
