Anti-Missile Shield: Moscow Considering Warheads In Belarus

(AGI) - Moscow, 14 Nov. - Russia may deploy its next generation Iskandar tactical missiles in Belarus in response to the US plan to extend their anti-missile defence shield to eastern Europe. This was suggested by General Vladimir Zaritsky, head of Russian artillery. "Why not? In the appropriate conditions, and with a relevant accord with Belarus, such a thing would be possible," said Zaritsky. The Minsk government is a close ally of Moscow, with which it has repeatedly proposed a Soviet-style reunification.
