Krasnoyarsk governor meets Belarusian Prime Minister

Belarusian Prime Minister Sergey Sidorsky arrived in Krasnoyarsk on a working visit on November 4. A cooperation agreement was signed between the republic and the Krasnoyarsk Territory in the airport during the meeting of Sergey Sidorsky with Krasnoyarsk Governor Alexander Khloponin. The Krasnoyarsk party was represented by Mayor Petr Pimashkov, first deputy governor Alexander Novak, deputy governors Edkham Akbulatov and Anatoly Tikhonov.

The governor and Belarusian Prime Minister agreed to expand cooperation in trade, economics and culture and said they intended to support and encourage initiatives of state services, non-governmental and other organizations in the field of the enlargement of friendly relations. The participants of the meeting reached an agreement to contribute to the development of cooperation, share experience and launch joint projects and help delegations and experts in various fields of economic activity and hold joint fairs, exhibitions and seminars.

It is said in the agreement signed by Khloponin and Sidorsky that the parties will cooperate in four spheres:

1) industry, construction, housing and communal services, science and technology;

2) at the consumer market;

3) implementing joint projects, exhibition and fair activity;

4) education, culture, sport and data exchange.

In addition, the governor and the prime minister agreed to assist with implementing priority national projects by Belarusian manufacturers, enhancing mutual deliveries of agricultural products, establishment and development of direct contacts between educational establishments of Belarus and the Krasnoyarsk Territory, participation of Belarusian building companies in construction tenders and reconstruction of objects in the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

Alexander Khloponin summed up in the end of the meeting, "We have not been meeting for the first time. After our first meeting commodity circulation between the Krasnoyarsk Territory and the Republic of Belarus increased by 50 per cent. Our cooperation is mutually profitable. There is competitive production, which is in demand in our region, in Belarus."

"It is very important that our industry is in demand in this region. We would like to create new work places here and use our projects, high technologies for the benefit of the Krasnoyarsk Territory," Sergey Sidorsky stressed.
