Welcoming the delegates, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko stressed that: "The Great October Revolution in 1917 was an event of historical importance whish ushered in a new era and awakened the oppressed nations to unite together in the struggle for a free and equal society." He said that November 7 is still considered a national day in Belarus.

The participating parties also exchanged views on a number of critical international issues and their domestic situations and operational experience and initiated measures to promote co-ordination within the left-wing movement in the struggle for a equal global order and for peace and social progress.

Representatives from the Communist Party of Belarus (KPB) said that the meeting held in Belarus was of great significance because it witnessed the first congress of the Russian Social-Democratic Labour Party (RSDLP) held on March 1898.
