Leviev mulls investment in Belarus

Lev Leviev discussed various projects in a meeting with Belarus president Alexander Lukashenko.

Lev Leviev is considering investment in Belarus. The "Belarusian Telegraph Agency" reports that Africa-Israel Investments Ltd. (TASE:AFIL; Pink Sheets:AFIVY.PK) controlling shareholder Lev Leviev met on November 20 with the president of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko. The two men discussed the option of investment in the country by Leviev's LGC group in real estate and industrial projects. LGC has local companies in tens of countries, engaging in various lines of businesses, including diamond trading, real estate, infrastructures, telecommunications, and high-tech. It has also initiated large-scale property development projects in cities across the CIS, including Moscow.

Lukashenko told Leviev that "Participation of your concern in the projects on construction of manufacturing and social facilities is of great interest for Belarus. We have big plans for new constructions and modernization of Minsk. The projects have been recently approved to construct a modern and very promising area, "Minsk-City", to develop the city's infrastructure."
