KGB museum to open in Minsk, Belarus, in conditions of full secrecy

On December 20, a museum of the KGB opens th in Minsk, online paper Khartiya ' 97 reports, referring to the Chairman of the Belarus KGB Yury Zhadobin.

"On December 20, in Minsk, the museum of the KGB of Belarus will be opened, and this day I shall give my first press conference", the head of the KGB told journalists.

Minsk-based newspaper Solidarnost decided to find out where the museum will be located and what it is planned to be exposed there.

The press secretary of the KGB Valery Nadtochayev said he could not tell anything about it and nobody else will tell about the new museum. It is impossible to learn also about the exhibits to be presented the museum before the official opening, according to Nadtochayev.

Despite of deep secrecy privacy, Solidarnost managed to receive some particulars. It turned out, that such a museum exists already for a long time in the HQs building of the KGB in Minsk. However, access to its exhibition is closed for average citizens.

The conscripts of the state security agencies were taken for delivering lecures there, Lieutenant Colonel of the KGB Sergei Anisko told Solidarnost. - The Museum was placed in several rooms. There are photos of previous heads of the KGB, the uniform of security officers of different samples, awards, radio transmitters and diferent equipment, withdrawn still in 1950s from the foreign spies, accoridng to him.

It is supposed, that exactly the exhibition of the central office of the KGB will be opened for wide access. However, it is not excluded that the museum will be placed in the Club named after Dzerzhinsky, on Komsomol street, the paper adds.
