Iran, Belarus: Presidential Meeting

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad hosted his Belarusian counterpart, President Aleksandr Lukashenko, on Nov. 6 in Tehran. Ahmadinejad expressed hope that the two nations can expand bilateral ties. Belarus has recently emerged as Iran's strongest European ally, selling Russian-made conventional weapons and spare parts to Iran despite intense criticism. Lukashenko was set to leave Iran on Nov. 7.
