Russia: Offering Military Aid To CSTO Members

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov said Nov. 22 that Russia is prepared to send military-technical aid to members of the Collective Security Treaty Organization. Such assistance, according to Ivanov, could come in the form of direct supplies of arms and military hardware and the training of military personal in Russian institutions. Ivanov will meet with the defense ministers of the member states at the council of defense ministers in Minsk, Belarus on Nov. 23, when he is also expected to sign a deal with Belarus create a unified air-defense system.
