Single migration cards begin circulating in Russia, Belarus

MINSK, November 1 (Itar-Tass) - A single migration card has begun circulating in Russia and Belarus.

"Foreign citizens or citizenshipless persons should fill in this card while entering the territory of the union state from a third country," Belarussian Deputy Interior Minister Viktor Filistovich told Itar-Tass on Wednesday.

A foreigner should undergo registration procedures within 72 hours, except from weekends and holidays.

"The normative and legal base has been shaped in compliance with the agreement signed between the Belarussian Interior Ministry and the Russian Federal Migration Service," he said.

Old migration cards will expire on January 1, 2007.
