Gazprom says gas could cost Belarus $220

Interfax-Ukraine

The average price of gas for Belarus next year could be $220 per thousand cubic meters, compared to $185 in 2010, Andrei Kruglov, deputy chief executive of Russia's Gazprom, told reporters in Minsk.

"If we assume oil prices next year will be the same as in Q4 2010, then it is anticipated that the average price of gas for Belarus in 2011 will be around $220. I think it will be around $185 this year," Kruglov said.

The discount mechanism on contract gas prices for Belarus will be discontinued in 2011, Kruglov said. "The price caters for the absence of a reducing coefficient, which was 0.8 in 2009 and 0.9 in 2010. This coefficient will be 1 in 2011," he said.
