Belarus witnessing Omani cultural presence

Belarus (Minsk) - In coincidence with the Sultanate's celebrations of the 40th glorious National Day, the Belarusian capital Minsk is witnessing a remarkable cultural and intellectual Omani presence for a number of art and cultural activities organized by the Sultanate's embassy in Belarus in cooperation and coordination with a number of official Belarusian establishments

These events, which are held at the celebration hall at Minsk State Linguistic the University were attended by Habib bin Mohammed Al Riyami, Secretary General of Sultan Qaboos Centre for Islamic Culture, Mohammed bin Awadh al Hassan, Sultanate's ambassador to the Russian Federation and non-resident ambassador to the Republic of Belarus and Vice Principal of Minsk State Linguistic University, as well as, professors, department heads and students at the university.

The events included presenting a number of books as a gift from the Sultanate to Belarus. A number of musicians, members of Oud Amateurs Association, presented some Omani and oriental music pieces that were will received by the attendees. A group of Belarusian students at Minsk State Linguistic University.

At the HQs' of the Belarusian National Library, a collection of Omani books and publications including Oman annual book, translated into Russian, were presented. The Library also witnessed the organization of an exhibition for Omani fine arts. The exhibition included more than 50 oil paints.

30 Belarusian models also displayed 30 models of the Omani costumes, which were provided by the Sultanate's embassy in Belarus.

The events were attended by a number of accredited ambassadors to the Republic of Belarus, the Undersecretary of the Belarusian Culture Ministry and the head of Belarusian National Library, as well as, members of the public.

Habib bin Mohammed al Riyami, Secretary General of Sultan Qaboos Centre for Islamic Culture delivered a speech where he pointed out that cultural and intellectual communication among peoples is the foundation up on which the bridges of cooperation and communication can be built on mutual respect, trust and endeavor to serve humanity in general. This is one of the fundamentals in the Sultanate's policy related to its communication with nations and cultures.

On his part, Mohammed bin Awadh al Hassan, Sultanate's ambassador to the Russian Federation and non-resident ambassador to the Republic of Belarus said that this event comes within the framework of the Sultanate's celebration of the 40th glorious National Day to brief the Belarusian people, students and intellectuals on the comprehensive renaissance achieved by the Sultanate under the wise leadership of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said.

On the other hand, a number of Omani Musicians, members of the Oud Amateurs Association of the Diwan of Royal Court alongside with a number of Belarusian musicians presented some music performances at the Belarusian Symphony HQs'.

The Omani fashion designer, Anisa al Zadjaliyah, also presented a number of her Omani designs with participations from a number of specialized Belarusian models.
