Customs Union of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan to Improve Competitiveness - Putin

MINSK. Oct 6 (Interfax) - Russia is seeking to create a Customs Union with Belarus and Kazakhstan and agree on a uniform customs tariff, Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin told Belarusian Prime Minister Sergei Sidorsky.

"You have just mentioned the agreement on the customs tariff. I think it is very important in view of our objective - the creation of a comprehensive Customs Union including Kazakhstan," Putin said.

The creation of the customs union will increase the competitive advantages of the states, members of the Customs Union, in relations with other countries and other associations, he said.
