MINSK. Oct 6 (Interfax) - Belarus saw GDP growth of 10.6% in January-September 2008, the Belarusian Economics Ministry said.
The full-year forecast for GDP growth is 11%.
Industrial production grew 13.1% in the nine months (full-year forecast of 13.1%). Enterprises affiliated with the Industry Ministry boosted output 14.1% in the period, (11%), the Agriculture and Food Ministry - 13.3% (12%), the Construction and Architecture Ministry - 13% (12%) and the Belneftekhim concern - 7.7% (7%).
The production of consumer goods grew 12.5% (11%) in the period, while agricultural output increased 7.4% (8.5%).
Fixed-capital investment grew 23% in the nine months amid an annual forecast of 25%.
Belarus had a foreign trade deficit of $2.075 billion in January- August 2008 (full-year forecast of $1.4 billion-$1.42 billion) as exports grew 56.8% (16%-17%) and imports increased 55.9% (12.5%- 13.5%).
The government is planning for GDP growth of 10%-12% in 2009.
