(CEP News) - The International Monetary Fund has recognized a request from Belarus for monetary assistance, saying the country has been suffering because of the financial crisis.
In a statement issued in Washington, IMF Chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn said trade conditions have affected the country's balance of payments, and the global crisis has damaged their access to outside capital.
The IMF will decide on the size of their aid to Belarus in the coming days.
