Belarus, Iran intend to cooperate in creation of space communication system

Belarus and Iran intend to organize the telecommunication direct channel between the two countries. This issue has been discussed by Minister of Communications and Informatization of Belarus Nikolai Pantelei, Director General of Beltelecom Konstantin Tikar and Mohammad Soleimani, Minister of Information and Communications Technology of the Islamic Republic of Iran, during their meeting in Minsk on October 21, BelTA learnt in the Ministry of Communications and Informatization of Belarus.

The sides have agreed to hold negotiations on organization of the telecommunication direct channel between the two countries, participation of Iran in creation of the Belarusian national space communication system, production of telecommunication equipment, cooperation in production of philatelic products.

On the same day, the Iranian delegation visited the Belarusian National Academy of Sciences where it had talks with Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences Mikhail Myasnikovich and the leadership of the Integrated Institute of Computer Science. The sides discussed the bilateral cooperation in the earth remote sensing and computer science.

On October 22, the Iranian delegation will visit the Belarus State Military-Industrial Committee and Svyazinformservice Research Centre. On October 23, the foreign delegation will visit the Belarusian High-Tech Park.

The delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran led by Mohammad Soleimani, Minister of Information and Communications Technology of Iran, is in Belarus on a three-day visit (October 20-23).
