International Caravan of Culture receives souvenirs from Belarus

Embassy of Belarus in Uzbekistan handed over memorable souvenirs from Belarus Artists Union to International Caravan of Culture at the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan in Tashkent, Jahon news agency reported.

"History has not once shown that the strongest bridges of friendship between the nations were established through cultural cooperation", - Belarus envoy Nikolay Demchuk said, while addressing those gathered at the event. "The ties between Uzbekistan and Belarus in the area of culture have always been close and remained as such up to date," he added.

"Agreement between the two countries on cooperation in culture and art, signed 12 years ago, confirms this. I would like to hope that these gifts would take a deserved place at the museum exposition, will always remind to the Uzbek people about the Belarusian culture and brotherly friendship between our nations," he added.

Chairman of Uzbek Academy of Arts Tursunali Kuziev thanked the Artists Union of Belarus for the gift and said that Belarusian collection would certainly join the museum exposition "Ceramics and antiquities of the Great Silk Road".

He said collection is constantly filled with new artifacts from the science and research expeditions led by the caravansary of culture o-n the territory of the country.

Musical program of Belarusian and Uzbek national dances and songs performed by ensembles of International cultural center of Uzbekistan has concluded the festive event, the report said.
