On behalf of the Belarus Artists' Union, Belarus Embassy handed over souvenirs to the Arts Academy of Uzbekistan in a special ceremony held at the Caravanserai of Culture, Jahon reports.
In his greeting speech, the Ambassador of Belarus to Uzbekistan Nikolay Demchuk said, "from the history we know that the strongest bridges of friendship between the nations are built through cultural cooperation."
"The bounds that exist between Belarus and Uzbekistan in the field of culture have always been very close and have been kept to this day. A confirmation to this fact is the agreement on cooperation in the field of culture and art signed between the two countries 12 years ago. We would like to hope that the gift of the Belarus Artists' Union to the International Caravanserai of Culture of the Arts Academy of Uzbekistan will find a nice place in the Museum's exposition, and will remind the people of Uzbekistan of the Belarus culture and brotherly friendship that exists between our nations," he added.
The Chairman of the Arts Academy of Uzbekistan Tursunali Kuziev thanked the Artists' Union of Belarus for the gift and said that Belarus collection would be included in the Museum's exposition of "Ceramics and rarities of the Great Silk Road", which is constantly enriched in the course of the scientific-research works of the archaeological-ethnographic expedition of the Caravanserai of Culture.
A musical programme including Belarus and Uzbek national dances and songs performed by the ensembles of the International Cultural Centre of Uzbekistan closed the ceremony.
