Belorussian President to visit Vietnam

VietNamNet Bridge - Belorussian President Alexander Lukashenko will pay an official visit to Vietnam in early December 2006. In preparation for the visit, Belorussian Deputy Foreign Minister Victor Gaisenok has paid a three-day visit to Vietnam.

Arriving in Vietnam on Oct. 29, Deputy FM Gaisenok met with his Vietnamese counterpart Le Cong Phung on Oct. 30. The two sides informed each other of their respective countries' situation, and discussed measures to boost their political, economic and trade relations and cooperation in international forums as well as enhance coordination between the two ministries.

Deputy FM Gaisenok expressed his delight at Vietnam's achievements in carrying out renovation process and national industrialisation and modernisation. Belarus always attached importance to developing relations with Vietnam, he said, expressing hope that the friendship and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries and the two ministries would be further enhanced.

The same day, Deputy FM Gaisenok was received by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem.
