MTZ Launches Installation of Production Facilities to Assemble ITS Tractors in Azerbaijan

MTZ (Minsk Tractor Plant) is launching a work on installation of production facilities to assemble its tractors in Azerbaijan. The agreement was reached during Azerbaijan`s President Ilham Aliyev`s visiting MTZ on October 18, Trend reports referring to Belta.

According to Alexander Pukhovoy, General Director of the Production Association "Minskiy Traktorniy Zavod" ("Minsk Tractor Plant"), the enterprise "is to about to develop its production in Azerbaijan according in-depth integration schemes -by means of installation of assembling production facilities". Tractors with the capacity of 80-105 horse powers are of a great demand in Azerbaijan. In order for the forthcoming enterprise to be profitable, it was proposed to deliver component parts to assembly 500-1000 tractors to Azerbaijan.

Presently MTZ delivers about 100 tractors a year. There have been no serious rivals for the Byelorussian enterprise in Azerbaijan yet. "Our enterprise is bringing know-how to the development of the future joint production. And that is worth much for us". At the same time, Mr. Pukhovoy stressed that launching a joint-stock company in Azerbaijan, it needs be an up-to-date European production based on high tech.

President Ilham Aliyev saw the main production site and gave a commission to his specialists to determine the area for installation of the assembling production of Byelorussian tractors in Azerbaijan. He underlined that it is important to launch this project immediately. The Azerbaijani President watched the exposition of the new tractor models "Belarus", as well as other special agriculture machinery.
