President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev arrived at the National Library of Belarus on October 18.
Director of the Library Roman Motulski updated Azerbaijani Leader on the fact that construction of the library began in 2000 in accordance with President Alexander Lukashenko's executive order and was completed in early 2006. The library is computerized and has a total area of 166,5 thousand square meters.
National Library's collection totaled 8 million titles. The number of books is scheduled to reach 14 million within the next 30 years. The library employs 500 people and has a variety of departments and 19 reading halls. 25 thousand readers a day visit the library.
President Ilham Aliyev toured the library's facilities and got familiarized with the design of the library's building. Afterwards, the Head of State signed the guest book.
