Ukraine and Belarus sign Protocol on border crossing regime by residents of frontier regions

One of the important results of a Tuesday visit by Ukrainian Prime Minister to Belarus was signing an intergovernmental Protocol on regime of crossing the Ukrainian - Belarusian borderline by residents of the frontier regions, the Cabinet's press service reported.

As Prime Minister Yuri Yekhanurov commented on the protocol, the border issue was to be settled to simplify border crossing procedures for Chernobyl NPP staffers, who reside in Slavutych and had to cross the border twice in order to get to the place of their work.

An intergovernmental protocol on amending the intergovernmental agreement on free trade of December 17, 1992, an agreement on joint scientific-research activities in armaments and materiel and an agreement on mutual protection of rights to intellectual activity results, while cooperating in the bipartite military - technical cooperation, were signed, too.
