SES ASTRA signs Novacomm as distribution partner in Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova

(Telecomworldwire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) SES ASTRA, an SES company (Paris:SESG) (LuxX:SESG), today announced that Novacomm, a Russian Internet service provider with a subsidiary in Ukraine, is to distribute the ASTRA2Connect satellite broadband service in Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova.

ASTRA2Connect is an interactive broadband Internet access service that is offered through SES ASTRA distribution partners to end customers and businesses in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The service is independent from terrestrial network and immediately available anywhere within the footprint of the satellite.

With the addition of Novacomm, SES ASTRA now has 23 distribution partners in 21 countries across Europe, serving in excess of 65,000 end-users.

Novacomm will use the service to expand its business outside Russia and to develop projects such as broadband connections for schools and transportation systems as well as for business and end customers who have no access to terrestrial broadband networks, according to SES.
