MINSK, September 7 (Itar-Tass) - The date of the presidential elections in Belarus will not be named on Tuesday, on the first day of the extraordinary session of the Belarusian parliament, Lydia Yermoshina, head of the Central Electoral Commission of Belarus, told journalists here on Tuesday. "The date of the elections will not be named today," she said.
The Belarusian legislators are holding an extraordinary session, which was expected to name the date of the presidential elections. The item was not put on the agenda of the first day of the session, however. The MPs began to discuss a package of the main economic and financial documents, including the draft budget for 2011.
Reports appeared in the Russian mass media saying that the presidential elections in Belarus will take place on December 12.
