Friends cast doubt over suicide of Belarus activist Oleg Bebenin

Mr Bebenin's website Charter '97 was critical of President Lukashenko

The funeral has taken place in Minsk of the leading Belarussian opposition figure, Oleg Bebenin, who was found dead at his home on Friday.

Belarus is a tightly-controlled communist country and under President Alexander Lukashenko it does not allow much opposition.

According to the official version of events, Oleg killed himself.

However, his friends and colleagues do not believe that.

Natasha Kaliada worked with Oleg at his human rights website, Charter '97.
