Interface between supercomputer network of Belarus and Institute of Physics of Azerbaijan created

Baku, Fineko/abc.az. An interface between the network of supercomputers of Belarus and the Institute of Physics of the National Academy of Sciences (AMEA) has been created.

Vladislav Nelayev, the head of the Department of Micro- and Nanoelectronics of the Byelorussian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics, the AMEA Institute of Physics and the Belarusian University established co-operation in the area of high-precision calculations at the quantum mechanical level of compounds of nanoscale objects that are used in nanoelectronics, spintronics, microelectromechanical systems, etc.

"Calculations are conducted with use of high performer supercomputers. During the recent visit of Azerbaijani scientists to Belarus, we acquainted them with methods of work with programs of supercomputers which were provided for use at the Institute of Physics of Azerbaijan, taught the process of connection of a great deal of computers and thus provided a possibility of simultaneous calculations at all processors of these computers," he added.

According to the scientist, Azerbaijani scientists have also acquired skills in the assembling of clusters on the basis of several computers, following which calculations are carried out 100-fold faster than before.

It should be noted that Azerbaijan plans to create network of supercomputers, and today's needs of the country in calculations of high accuracy are provided due to Internet connection to Byelorussian network of supercomputers.
