Kazakhstan, Belarus discussed electricity industry projects

ASTANA. September 12. KAZINFORM /Aigul Tulekbayeva/ - "Kazakhstan is interested in Byelorussian experience in the sphere of power industry, particularly, in its program of energy conservation", Kazakhstan's Prime Minister Karim Massimov has stated at a briefing upon the results of the talks with his Byelorussian counterpart.

According to Sergey Sidorsky, the Premier of Belarus, the country has a task to decrease GDP energy intensity by 31 per cent by 2010, and by 60 per cent by 2020.

Head of the Kazakhstan's Government said that the issue of hydrocarbon materials transit was considered at the meeting as well. He noted that Kazakhstan was interested in the transit of energy resources and their partial processing on the territory of Belarus.
