Belarus became the prime buyer of Ukrainian juices

During the first half of 2006 Belarus has imported more than 21,000 tons of juice from Ukraine; this volume makes 37% of the gross juice export. At the same period of time 15,800 tons of juice were exported to Russia (28% of the general expert structure). So, Belarus became the largest importer of Ukrainian juices; it squeezed Russia out of the leading position. In the first half 2006 Ukraine totally exported 56,800 tons of various juices. This figure is 25% higher comparing to the same period of time in 2005, and 2.5 times higher comparing to the export recorded in 2001.

In 2005 Ukraine exported 102,000 tons of juices: 27,900 tons (27%) to Russia and 24,400 tons (24%) to Belarus.

In the first half of 2006 juice import to Ukraine was 42,000 tons; the main suppliers were Russia, China and Holland. The main imported commodity is juice concentrate utilized for juice production.
