Iranian foreign minister arrives in Belarus

MINSK. Sept 7 (Interfax) - Iranian Foreign Minister Manuchehr Motaki has come to Belarus on a two-day official visit, a source at the Belarussian Foreign Ministry press service told Interfax on Thursday.

"The program for the visit includes meetings with Belarussian President Alexander Lukashenko, Chairman of the National Assembly's House of Representatives Vladimir Konoplyov and Foreign Minister Sergei Martynov, which will focus on the entire range of the bilateral cooperation and key items of the international agenda," the press service said.

Lukashenko paid an official visit to Iran in March 1998, and the then Iranian president Mohammad Khatami visited Belarus in September 2004.

Special representative of the Iranian president and Deputy Foreign Minister Mehdi Safari visited Minsk in November 2005, and Minister of Industries and Mines Ali Reza Tahmasbi paid a visit in August 2006.
