Belarus: Request For Ban On Communist Party
The Belarusian Ministry of Justice has petitioned the Supreme Court to temporarily ban Communist Party activities, the ministry said Sept. 26. The ministry said the party did not provide membership records after Justice Ministry requests to do so. If both the ministry and the Supreme Court find the Communist Party in violation of regulations, its activities may be suspended for one to six months.
