Eight Venezuelan crude tankers delivered to Belarus since May

London (Platts)--12Aug2010/629 am EDT/1029 GMT

Eight tanker loads of Venezuelan crude have been delivered into Belarus since May, a source at Belorussian Oil Company said Wednesday. "Everything goes according to plan," the source said. Six of the Aframax tankers, each loaded with around 80,000 mt of Venezuelan Santa Barbara crude, discharged at the Ukrainian Black Sea port of Odessa and two arrived at the Estonian port of Muuga near Tallinn on the Baltic Sea. In April, Ukraine said it would help Belarus to import, process and market up to 200,000 b/d of crude that Minsk has agreed to take from Venezuela. Belarus has also been in talks with Lithuania about the possibility of shipping Venezuelan crude via Lithuania to Belarus. The crude oil discharged in Muuga is processed at the 170,000 b/d Naftan refinery near Novopolotsk, the source said. The crude discharged in Odessa is delivered to the 320,000 b/d Mozyr plant. --Elza Turner, elza_turner@platts.com
